What this is, and why it works this way
A decision-underwriting platform built on public records, run by 8th Wave Media LLC.

The position
There are a lot of tools that will score a business idea. We surveyed fourteen. Not one publishes a measured error bar on its score, records a falsifiable test before the outcome is known, publishes its own failures, or refuses to score something it has no evidence for.
Those four things are the whole product. The scoring is comparatively easy; being checkable is the hard part, and it is the part nobody does.
Why the data is held rather than called
1,277,817 rows of federal public records sit on our own server rather than behind an API subscription. That means a query costs nothing to serve, returns the same answer every time, keeps working if a vendor changes its terms, and can be audited by anyone who wants to check it against the source.
It also means the free pages can stay free permanently rather than as an introductory offer.
What we get wrong
70 defects are published at /library/failures, generated from our regression suite rather than written by hand โ so a defect appears there only after acquiring a test that stops it returning. Several are embarrassing. They stay up.
